Good morning.  I am a parent and coordinator as well, I agree, this is very true about the website.  Also, alot of BT's are turned in past the expire date, therefore can not be counted.

Another option would be to volunteer to help count and bundle the box tops.  I know this would help your coordinator and hopefully ease your concerns.

Still turn in your expired Box Tops!!!  Just turn them in separately from the valid Box Tops (ie, label a baggie with "expired").  In most cases, your school will still get credit for them as long as the product is still part of the program.  Just FYI...every little bit helps!!

We coordinators are always on the look out for expired BT's.  What do coordinators and parents do with expired coupons?  Like most coordinators, I print out and cut out coupons to give to friends and staff to remind them to clip and turn in boxtops.  I just read about a great use for expired coupons!  " Don't throw away expired coupons, but give them to the overseas coupon program www.ocpnet.org/base_list.htm"  Military personnel are allowed to use these expired coupons at commissaries up to 2 months after expiration.  Read in St. Louis Post Dispatch.

Anyone ever experienced this program or heard of it?

Thanks for telling so many others about the way to use "expired coupons."  I believe we need to help our military and their families any way we can, even the small ways such as the forwarding of expired coupons.  I found the information through CouponMom.com (it was one of the ever so many subjects you could click on if you were interested in learning about it).  This site listed several bases in particular that were still taking expired coupons.  However, please be sure and bundle your expired coupons and try to put an expiration date on the outside, if you have time.  The site stated that several bases had received so many coupons (current and expired) just dropped into envelopes that it was taking more manpower than necessary to try and sort the coupons.  Most of the time the coupons would be REALLY expired (the extra 2 months the miltary families are given) by the time they were separated for distribution.  Therefore, a lot of the bases have discontinued the program.  So....it's a great way to still help out....just try and make the time to sort the coupons with a note on top, we don't want them being thrown away upon arrival.  We waste not only the military volunteers' time but our money mailing them as well.  I hope this didn't sound ungrateful.  I'm just trying to think of the best way to explain it.

Coordinators have a little better access to that type of info.  It depends on the product.  If you find a product at your grocery store or Target or somewhere like that (not a discount place like Big Lots) and it has and expired BT, chances are it is still good, but don't let it sit around your house for a year before turning it in.  LOL!!

Yes, we may still get credit for them, but it doesn't mean we always will.  But for now, I would suggest turning in any Box Tops you have.  I turn in ALL expired Box Tops for my school and I have gotten credit for every one of them.

I was clipping and bundling expired coupons for the address for two years. All coupons can be used at the PX's as long as the product matches the coupon. If I knew they accepted expired BT's, I would have included those.

The website is really a frustrating mess to deal with.  For days it has not reconized my "logon" and I really had something to SAY.....Those large 4x3 cardboard coupons taken from yogurt cases in hotel breakfast bars use to be worth 1.oo   What devalued them, has anyone obtained information from General Mills or the BOXTOP guru of this site?  I am new to the site but not to the game of collecting for my grandkids.  Anyone know why the value is not printed on these large cardboard coupons from yoplait?   Thanks for everyones work to support our schools.

NO WE ARE TOLD NOT TO TURN IN EXPIRED BOX TOPS. THIS PAST YEAR THEY MADE SOME EXCEPTIONS BECAUSE THERE WERE EXPIRED BOX TOPS ON PRODUCTS STILL BEING SOLD AT STORES. IT IS ON BOTH THE PARENTS SITE AND COORDINATORS SITE STATING THAT THEY WILL NOT GIVE CREDIT FOR EXPIRED BOX TOPS. THEY DO AUDIT BOX TOPS THAT ARE SENT IN AND IF SCHOOLS TURN IN EXPIRED BOX TOPS THEY GET DEDUCTED FROM YOUR TOTALS. IT JUST MAKES EXTRA WORK FOR THE COORDINATOR.

My husband and I were stationed in Sicily for five years, and you can use the expired coupons for six months past their expiration.  That is how a lot of military families make it.  Definately send!  Although he is retired now, we still send our expired coupons to our friends, and family overseas.

I saw a 2013 yesterday.

Just got one  .... 9 - 30 - 13  !!!!!!
